I've lost it now, its gone and drowned
Lost, a light among the stars
Deeper it sinks as its pulled down
Farther it shoots away from Mars
To another system at stellar speeds
I guess more space that star needs
But its new local to dark to be lit
Yet so many stars how can it fit
The new home now riddled with holes
Sucking in light to keep forever
But when will it break free and return
My star, perhaps it may never
But each night I look in the sky
Mapping the lights as they fly by
Hoping to see that familiar star
But only through my eyes, from afar
