In Memories

I see the holes in the sky
Pockmarks letting light stream through
from some unknown beyond

I reach out to put my fingers in
to maybe touch that beautiful white
or to poke more voids into the night,
light up the darkness
and fill the sky

I can’t though
And even if I could
I don’t believe
I am strong enough
to light up the world

So my hands fall from the heavens
with so much gravity,
from reaching so far,
that I am knocked back from my thoughts
and dreams
And like ashes from a cigarette
I fall from this world
And as I hit the ground
I hold onto my ember
but only for a moment

I light up all existence
forever
in memories
