Midnight Starfish

A star once met the crescent moon
Swimming in the evening's afternoon

The waters cool and starfish bright
As she floated by that crescent site

The starfish started pulsing, pounding
As the dark sea's sound started sounding

The moon awakened to the bright star nearing
As his dark blue flesh started searing

Hastening the starfish's pulsing motion
Loudening the brilliant song of the ocean

An orchestra filled the vacant air
As the star and moon lay staring there

Their eyes were locked in a lasting glance
As to the music they'd slowly dance

The starfish burst to the slow concerto
Pushing the strings to a fast allegro

Scattering their pieces throughout the space
Vastly illuminating the moon's blue face

The heavens now filled with starfish's light
Neon jellyfish now came into the night

The moon's eyes widened, as did the star's
As the jellyfish lit up like late night bars

Deep in her eyes the moon started to gaze
So beautiful and misty, that soft green haze

Surrounded by their black eye liner
The moon had never seen anything finer

And he fell in love as he fell in their
Soft and green menthol stare

Warming him greatly but cooling his soul
From his wild unbalance which he'd yet to control

She looked deep in his wild eyes
And found in them, to her surprise

Flocks of gold, so soft and sweet
That she was comforted when their eyes would meet

And his eyes too were a deep green field
Where a harvest of the sweetest love would yield

A harvest brighter than the gold surrounding
And with that thought the strings kept sounding

Louder and louder soon filling their ears
With a romance that would last beyond their years

And the moon kissed that star their first goodnight
As the sun rose upon that celestial sight
