The Flower

First we'll assume
That God is a writer
So,
Why did God make flowers?
For me, I get beauty
And a bee gets pollen
These are both valid
Both things we get from flowers
Maybe God wrote flowers
For both those purposes
Then he is surely
A better writer
Than I
But that should go without saying

God can write something
With the intent
Of every interpretation
Latent in the words
But I know not
What you will infer from me
Only the few possibilities
That I may think of
So if I were to write the flower
With only beauty in mind
And the bee still found the pollen
I knew not was there
Then the pollen is still
Just as real
And important
As the beauty I intended
No more
No less
Just beauty
And pollen
And whatever else
